It is currently the only identified regulator of ion transport; it promotes the transport and uptake of nutrients in crops, regulates plant growth, enhances crop resistance to adverse conditions, and participates in plant defense mechanisms.

Suggested dosage & application
- For foliar spray Apply 150–450 g of 98% GABA per hectare, diluted 500–1000 times with water.
- For drip irrigation/soil drench Use the same dosage range; add 75–225 g per hectare to base fertilizer.
- Increase the dosage to the upper limit during crop stress and fruit swelling stages, reapply every 7–10 days, and tank-mix with Monopotassium phosphate as compatible.
