- For Formulators & Manufacturers As a 98% Technical Grade concentration, this product must be formulated before broad field application. Solubility: 6-BA is insoluble in water. It dissolves readily in dilute hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide solutions, and organic solvents like ethanol or DMSO. It is commonly formulated into 2% SL or SP. Formulation Note: 6-BA is highly stable against heat, light, and pH fluctuations. It requires high-quality wetting agents or surfactants to prevent recrystallization when blended into complex clear liquid fertilizers. Synergistic Blends: Highly popular when co-formulated with GA4+7 (1:1 ratio) to create premium fruit-elongation and shape-improving commercial products (e.g., Promalin type).
- Reference Field Application Rates For standard foliar spraying, the general field application dosage ranges from 10 to 50 mg/L (ppm), depending on the specific growth stage and crop. To Promote Lateral Budding: Spray fruit trees or ornamental plants at 50 to 100 mg/L to break apical dominance, stimulating uniform side-branching. To Improve Fruit Set & Sizing: Apply a 10 to 20 mg/L spray during full bloom or early fruit development to accelerate cell division and maximize individual fruit size. To Extend Post-Harvest Shelf Life: Dip or spray harvested green vegetables (like broccoli or celery) with a 5 to 10 mg/L solution to delay chlorophyll breakdown and keep crops fresh during transport. To Ensure Optimal Efficiency: Direct the spray primarily at the growing points, blossoms, or young fruits, as 6-BA has limited systemic mobility within the plant tissue.
